I'm not sure who the "we" is in this. Popular understandings of Advent? The Second Advent is a major theme of the lectionary readings, prayers, and hymnography for the Sundays of Advent but almost entirely absent from Byzantine rite preparation for Christmas; the First Advent itself barely appears.

I'm not sure who the "we" is in this. Popular understandings of Advent? The Second Advent is a major theme of the lectionary readings, prayers, and hymnography for the Sundays of Advent but almost entirely absent from Byzantine rite preparation for Christmas; the First Advent itself barely appears.
