I've been going through old stuff as I prepare my panel for MFF. I can't believe I didn't post this. Awhile back, I recreated this four page spread from "The City Dreams of Tamino the Cat," which was a major pain. I miss that comic.

Some more old stuff! This was a short comic with a different crow, Crawford, and the spirit of something, the wolf, Cromwell. I forget which collection I did this for but it was fun to do. I tried to go kind of wild with it. And there's the mice being bastards.

It's been forever, but I've been in a very low creative spark ebb lately. And, to be fair, there's a page or two missing between last track and this one. That's what you get when you don't plan ahead of time. :D

That last one got me thinking about an old piece I only posted once under another name. I never posted anything else under that name and I don't think I even have the password for the account. Secret, dark unicorn.

I've been slowly working on the next track for "The City Silent." Sometimes that allows me to wander into something I hadn't seen or had forgotten that will be the key I need to move ahead. In this case, it was seeing classic animation smears. I do love me some smears...

This was the panel in question. A friend posted a manga image with an inward facing word balloon tail and said he hadn't seen that before. I remember having done one awhile ago, and well, I'm posting old stuff because new stuff is slow in coming these days.

(Click on the thumbnail for all three panels) I was reminded of this comic, "Smart's Journey" recently. It was probably my most 'designed' (over designed?) comic ever. This was made to help me express the grief of losing my mom in 2013.

Had a little fun with one of @nemera.bsky.social 's sketches tonight. His is the third image. The middle one was my inked version and the first was the final color version. Haven't don't one of these 'style trades' in a long time. It was fun. Thanks, @nemera.bsky.social !

Not my usual, but this is a painting of my favorite theater, The Brattle, in Harvard Square, Cambridge. It's an awesome little repertoire theater that's been there since 1955 or so. I've seen everything from "Wages of Fear," to "Plan 9 From Outer Space" there.

Been quiet as I've been trying to work out the next track of "The City Silent," how I want it to look and work. Which meant playing with style. I think I finally know what I want to do and how to do it.

There's no smell like a wet orc. Me, as Basher the orc, at the local downpour, I mean Ren Fest this weekend. Very glad I'm still able to do this.

"Three Horsemen." Made this based off a photo I took on the subway while visiting Boston. It's a typical site on the T. I suppose there's nothing special about it but it makes me think of a quiet moment before chaos. Or something.

I've been in a creative void for a bit; no spark. I WANT to make things, just haven't felt any direction. After rewatching a documentary on Alice Neel, I whipped these two out last night. Not my best, but at least I made SOMEthing.

Been sitting on this one for a long time as it was for a friend. It's based on his favorite place to sit in Harvard Square. Got a little nudge of what direction to go in thanks to watching a documentary on Mark Rothko. Procreate, Affinity Designer.

This weekend opens orc season! My partner and I have been going as orcs to the local ren faire for about ten years now. Always good to make sure the armor still fits...and that it's hot and smells. My orc's name is Basher.

Working on the style for the next track of "The City Silent." There are SO many of these things for the comic. Lots and lots of design things. Even when they fail, they're fun to do.

Apparently, it's nation lion day? This is my only one, Eddie, back when I did big, acrylic paintings. Still own both of them.

While I am now mostly a digital artist, there are decades of drawing pads, three full flat files of sketches and finished inked drawings and file cabinet drawers of more of all of that. I will likely never get around to scanning it all.
