I picked up a horror novel at the library just based on the description and 45 pages in a random side character appears who is literally a blatant rip off of the merchant from Resident Evil Village. Like 1:1. I’m shocked the author got away with this- it takes balls to steal this obviously

This is my first World Con in YEARS and the imposter syndrome has already set in hard. I haven't had a publication in years either; I've barely written, except for the past few months.

One of the biggest traps of falling into the book social media ecosystem is the constant pursuit of reading what's new and fresh or not even out yet, to stay on top of the cultural zeitgeist. I love new releases, but it becomes so easy to miss things even a year old in the quest for that.

It's been really disheartening to spend months creating content for tiktok and to feel like it's finally maybe taking off, and then the app is banned because Elon and Zuck have expensive hissy fits.

The prospect of starting over again on any social media is exhausting, but then how else will I get people the internet to tell me I'm pretty? Anyway, to verify it's me, here's my cat, bonafide celebrity Poppy.
