Where's Daniel? I don't know, but there's his steaming cup of coffee. Just a Canadian guy who likes coffee, physics, tech, BIKES!, books, and my kids.
This is my cat: Duke Floofington Inkybottom III - aka Mister Floof. He is the softest thing you’ve ever pet. Our family motto is: pet the kitty, pet the kitty, pet the kitty - feel better

Simpsons S5
The Expanse S3
The Wire S3
Arrested Development S4

Good call on Better of Ted, that was a great show. A couple other shows that died with the writers strike: Southland, Life, and Life on Mars

I said this in the replies to Paris’ post, but we need to quantify the tax here. If it only collected a small amount and trying to collect on it costs more than the revenue generated then it doesn’t make sense to have.

I was 13 when that movie came out.. I probably saw it when I was 15 or so, then formed a punk band shortly thereafter.

I hear by award you 10 cool points!

Do I spy my old Bike and Brew buddies Regina and Dave there?

Yeah, I get how it looks, and I’m no fan of austerity budgets, but wasn’t this eliminated as an inefficient tax? It needs to be quantified to support any outrage.

He’s operating as if the only thing that is important is maintaining donor money rather than look at the torch bearers for what voters actually want.. people who will raise hell and gym up the works at every opportunity to make it painfully obvious the corruption of the GOP.

It’s a good point that he maintains consensus in the house caucus, but the consensus seems to be to freeze like they’re facing a T-Rex in Jurassic Park. You can’t legislate away and authoritarian, that’s what establishment Dems don’t understand.

What if Crockett was the replacement? Democrats need fighters and the current leadership doesn’t understand the current assignment. They’re stuck in a world where the rules apply.

12: the right not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment or punishment
13: the right against self crimination
14: the right to an interpreter in a court of law
15: the right to equality before the law regardless of age, sex, colour, religion, race, etc.

OBSCENE!
November 11, 2025 at 3:23 AM
11: rights if charged with an offense (to be informed without unreasonable delay of the specific offence; to be presumed innocent until proven guilty; if finally acquitted of the offence, not to be tried for it again; etc.)

Excuse me?! Why do teachers need this charter right overridden?
November 11, 2025 at 3:23 AM
10: rights on arrest (to be informed promptly of the reasons therefor; to retain and instruct a lawyer; to have the validity of the detention determined by way of habeas corpus)

Authoritarian much? We’re seeing this south of the border!
November 11, 2025 at 3:23 AM
7: the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof
8: the right to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure.
9: the right not to be arbitrarily detained or imprisoned

WTF UCP?!
November 11, 2025 at 3:23 AM
2: Fundamental Freedoms (conscience and religion; thought, belief, opinion and expression; freedom of peaceful assembly; and freedom of association)

This is obviously trying to restrict their right to peaceful assembly. The UCP can’t have that..
