Artist, Writer, Covid, Climate. Ever hopeful, not sanguine.
I am not seeing anything on post acute sequelae/Long Covid in the docs. In fact it is all quite upbeat about immunity and reduction in serious disease. Very disappointing.

Yes! I would love to live in a place like this. I have an allotment in the UK, which is similar in a way, but incorporating cultivation and care (organic) into new house building is ideal. Building community around this would be great too.

Of course these are good for health, but healthy, non-obese people are floored by Covid and LC.
We have many kids with LC, and we know in very young children Covid infection can be dangerous.
He completely misses off that there can be no LC if there is no Covid infection to start with.

So we end up with LC being a big problem and not mentioned by govts, but the kids are fine. Very frustrating!
His answer is quality of diet, staying normal weight, and improved microbiome to reduce risk of death in acute infection (so join Zoe).

In this video - suggests just a cold for kids, vaccine side effects worse than infection in kids, virus is more transmissible but mild now, oh and masks work(!). Closing schools in UK was a mistake.
LC effecting 10% of infected, more chance with more infections, but vaccines reduce LC by 50-80%?

Thanks for coming back to me btw!

Yep, such a shame, I much preferred my experience with Novavax, but JN1 in MRNA is the best/only booster option right now.
November 19, 2024 at 11:31 PM
So question is - if we cant get JN1 is it worth seeking out a second Novavax XBB1.5?
I thought not due to immune memory issues, but maybe it would be actually be okay…

Governments only ever think and plan term to term, so 10, 20, 100 years ahead are not a major concern. Just like with climate they are mostly happy to pay lip service and kick the can down the road. Or, of course, just outright deny it. With Covid they are crossing fingers jammed in their ears.
November 17, 2024 at 1:30 PM
Yep apart from the now year round allergies. Forgetting how ill you were for weeks with Covid last time inc brain fog. And your cousin that actually died.
But actually what they really meant was - FFS why wont you just give up being so careful - you are ruining my xmas plans.

Oh and of course it explains why the MHRA took so long to authorise its use - presumably knowing it would never be available here anyway.

Yeah Cochrane used to be the gold standard, but as with almost all UK institutions was nobbled by RW think tanks getting their people on panels and boards.

Seeking out places that feel more supportive and relatively calm are a sensible option - especially for those who are in the front line in daily life. People will find yours and other important voices here if they want/need to find them. I found you there. I would have found you here the same way.
November 14, 2024 at 3:51 PM
Sure and I have followed you for some time! (and my comment was a response to CC’s post not your move)
Personally this place feels like a
a great relief. The last 5 years have been such a slog. The next 5 promise worse!

We all like to think we would join the resistance, but most would just stay on and try to get by. Some were able to escape, others left by choice not willing to be complicit by association.
If you are not going to join them prepare to be beaten…
