Another jet fuel spill in Hawaii by the US Navy

The 4th known serious spill of toxic chemicals into our ecosystem since ‘21 Red Hill. The US Military is the greatest threat to life in Hawaii

How many more times will we allow this before the Hawaiian people expel them for good?

#landback means more food to feed our community which is exactly why we are coming for more

The US Gov is looking to slash $500M in Federal funding for Dept of Hawaiian Home Lands.

They are coming for every single Native Hawaiian program.

If we’re no longer benefiting from federal funding what’s preventing us from reestablishing a sovereign Hawaii & rebuilding our own national wealth?

Hokulea arrives in Kualoa for her 50th anniversary ceremony. When she left on her maiden sail from these shores, she was the first traditional Polynesian Voyaging Canoe built in decades

Today, over a dozen sail in to greet her, a demonstration of the rebirth of waʻa traditions across Oceania. E Ola

Making ready for Hokulea 50th anniversary

Manaʻo shared by the Kupuna of Moku O Keawe reminded us to be prepared to sacrifice for the betterment of Ka Lāhui Hawaiʻi this year.

To not leave if times get tough, find a way to stay, a relative to move in with & offer the same if needed. We need our ʻŌiwi home, paʻa & ready to fight for her 🌱

Ua wehe iā Kū!♦️

We welcome in the season of Kū as Lono departs. The Makaliʻi constellation ✨ is no longer visible at night & the days elongate

Akua of farming, fishing, & politics. A season of productivity, planting & action

It’s the responsibility of the collective to protect each other

The season of Kū has arrived, under the Kūkahi Mahina 🌙 Ola

Let us Kūkulu & continue to build community rooted power in the pursuit of ea & liberation of our national homelands from the American occupation. There has never been a more important time to be involved in community organizing. ʻOnipaʻa

If our Kupuna saw their food system falling into disrepair they would say “clean em up already, stop complaining no food.” We have the right to seize all state lands protecting forests of invasive trees destroying our ancient agricultural sites. Get em all back into production, da time is now.

Another successful aloha ʻāina day yesterday at Nation of Hawaiʻi

We continue to build rock wall to stand for the next 800 years & 8 generations

Community rooted self determination is our niho stone & foundation as we continue to strengthen our vision of a free & independent Hawai’i for all

Beginning to see our native ʻOʻopu Nakea (goby fish) appear in our stream at Puʻuhonua O Waimanalo for the first time in recent memory. They’re a “species of special concern” by the American Fisheries Society (AFS) & require cleared waterways to successfully spawn.

Welina mai! Welcome home! ❤️

On this day the Kanaka Maoli fondly commentate da killing of the historic war criminal Capt Cooke, who fucked around & found out

Let that be a lesson to any white nationals getting a little too excited in this moment

We will still crack u & bury u if u step out of line on our shores. Da imu is lit

As the US Federal Gov freezes funding it’s important to remember the State of Hawaii has not been fulfilling its obligation to provide Office of Hawaiian Affairs with 20% of annual revenues generated off (stolen) Hawaiian Crown Lands/ Public Land Trust (PLT), $78.9M annually.

This is $ owed to us
January 28, 2025 at 7:04 PM
How does that translate into progressive housing policies, an agricultural cooperative, internally managed permiting processes, mutual aid & shared infrastructure within an autonomous zone.

A Puʻuhonua thrives because of the people inside it. See you Feb 22 🦎

We have an opportunity to develop a new model of self governance, where community leads & creates a social contract, modeled after the ahupuaʻa system we are restoring in which resources are thoughtfully managed for the collective’s well being to grow waiwai & abundance to all.
January 27, 2025 at 3:28 AM
A manaful first 2025 Aloha ʻĀina Day at Nation of Hawaiʻi with 130+ ʻOhana on site with us.

This year, our intention is to engage our community in conversations around what a modern day Puʻuhonua can function like, collectively managed under communal land tenure.
January 27, 2025 at 3:28 AM
It takes a Nation to restore an ahupuaʻa.

Ancestral wisdom has the potential to feed us for generations, if we are ready to accept the kuleana & implement the teachings.

Mahalo to all who have come to kōkua this year. We’ll see you again Sat, Jan 25.

The next phase of our efforts at NOH will be training community in hale building with the invasive trees on the property, utilizing our wood mill & get to a stage where we can distribute kits with enough wood to build a housing structure. Filling the gaps the failed state is not. 🪨🪨🪨

Another wall built today. Mahalo to everyone who came out to our Nation of Hawaii Aloha ʻĀina Day! Community making dis happen 🌈 Our Puʻuhonua is alive, thriving & a place of learning. Come join!

See you Sat, Jan 25 🪨🪨🌱

Join us this Sat at Puuhonua O Waimanalo. As we enter uncertain times, there’s no more critical time to secure our water sources, plant food, organize on national independence & take part in #landback. Acre by acre we will restore our nation.
December 26, 2024 at 3:15 PM
Dis the only title we need for take back our land. Our Kupuna built these spaces, it’s time to take them all back.

Join us this Wednesday at Nation of Hawaii for an Aloha ʻĀina Day from 9-1. We will also be holding a Kalo & Huli community distribution from our first harvest 🌱
December 17, 2024 at 5:58 PM
Wow, maikaʻi! Mahalo for sharing, that is a beautiful complex!

These are photos from a year ago when we first started at this site, you can see the rock wall terraces that were in place, all this has been restored & planted now, we just pulled from the bottom patch a year in.
December 17, 2024 at 5:43 PM
Just pulled about 300 lbs of Kalo from the first patch we planted at our newly opened loʻi at Nation of Hawaii a year ago. Can make about 700lbs poi, distribute 1/2 lbs to 1,400 community members. Building food security for Waimānalo through #landback & perpetual harvests. 🫡🌱💣

Other initiatives coming from this summit include Universal Free School meals for our Keiki. This initiative would cost $15M a year which is 1% of the overall DOE budget. We can absolutely afford these initiatives, there is no more important investment than the health of our youth.
