Black Rock Ranger on comm in Gerlach, Nevada.
I paid for the commission of this design. Unfortunately, I'm not very design minded so I can't really come up with stuff on my own.

Costco is great! Also, buying in bulk helps you get your resources stocked up for months down the road instead of weeks. A good thing to have these days.

@paddle2paddle.bsky.social , I didn't see your later comment. Yes, the website will show a message if the provided image is outside of the configured boundary but if you click submit a second time it will accept it. I will make some changes so that the message doesn't show up as soon as I can.

The boundary shown on the map is more of a suggestion than a rule and there shouldn't be any problems submitting images in your game's previously accepted boundary. If there is, we will fix it.

I'll do what I can to make the map look now representative of what you expect in the coming week.

One benefit of having the BikeTag games live on a website just for BikeTag is that you can share links to the tags and still have your social conversations on whatever social platforms you're on. It opens up the games for people not on those platforms to play, as well!

I built BikeTag.org as a tool to help manage games without a lot of overhead. Let's connect if you're interested in creating a game in your area!

I'm a big fan of the Black Rock Observatory and the individual known as Zoom.

I have been to BRC a total of of six years, so far.

My first burn was in 2013 when a partner cultivated an experience that made Burning Man really enjoyable for me. I went again in 2014 with a different partner and the result of my first two years in Black Rock City was that "burning man ruined my life".

I did not return to BRC until 2019.

I will say, though, that I'm impressed by those people who seek to find themselves in Black Rock City in order to "break" themselves. I've heard this from a couple of people who haven't yet been but want to go and it blows my mind. I didn't have that level of self awareness when I attended my first.

Probably not.

My advice, in this moment, is for burners:

Don't "take" someone to Burning Man. Give them a ride, carry in their shit, help them set up camp, do whatever. Just don't take anyone to Burning Man.

People need to take themselves.

I hung out with mobility camp this year! I love seeing groups like that volunteering their time to create a world of equity and inclusion. So beautiful.

BMP isn't out of touch, it includes hundreds of people who build Black Rock City.

The "CEO" though? Crushingly fucking tone deaf and out of touch. I'm so sick of these San Francisco creatives thinking they represent the Burning Man community.
