Senior Lecturer, Whitworth University (Doctorate in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible). I don't speak for anyone, just trying to make sense of scripture and faith in a crazy world.
On this Trans Day of Remembrance, now more than ever, we need to honour & remember those that came before us who we’ve lost to anti-trans hatred & violence.
Here’s a list of people just from the US this year alone, though likely incomplete.

On Trans Day of Remembrance, I'm reminded that Jesus (in Matthew 19:12), the apostles (in Acts 8:26-40) and the prophets (in Isaiah 56:3-5) all welcomed "eunuchs," which are the closest biblical parallel to trans people. So why are so many in the church today trying to exclude them?

A lot of talk lately about how BlueSky will make any money, but if Wikipedia can survive with an open-source, ad-free model, I don’t know why BlueSky can’t. We just have to be willing to support it. If you want democratic institutions and media, you have to contribute to them!

I've run out of adjectives for how insane and abhorrent Trump's cabinet picks are, but I have the growing suspicion that Gaetz will be the sacrificial lamb--the Republican Senate will (hopefully) reject him, but only to use him as cover to let in all the others.
