Honestly Saruman's the only leader in Middle-Earth with any admin skills, you get the sense he's at least heard of supply lines, he knows how to recruit, and he can control the weather, but he can't do shit with any of these skills because his true passion is being a cuck

it was called Kootenay-Columbia for nine elections

nobody was like "i see the rockies but the word rockies isn't in the riding name, please cure my existential crisis"

sometimes folks make meaningless changes because a couple people with too much free time complain on the right day
Kootenay-Columbia
to
Columbia-Kootenay-Southern Rockies.

I'm not impressed.

This would make them bored and disinterested at hearings since there's nothing in it for them. It'd be like banning gambling on sports.
Members of Congress should never be allowed to trade stocks. Period.

It's even dumber; the US has a positive trade balance with Australia but he slapped tariffs on them anyway, because he still thinks we're being "ripped off" due to not selling enough beef and poultry there.

This is madness without end.
the thing with the tariffs is that he probably could get some serious concessions out of a lot of countries who are heavily dependent on US trade if that’s what he wanted

but he doesn’t actually seem to want that, he wants a positive trade balance in goods even in places that makes no sense

Yeah man I love classic rock, you know like Korn, Evanescence, System of a Down, etc you know the type of music your dad likes. Dad rock, you know, like Tool.

You know, stuff from at least a quarter century ago, or even the last century. Real 1900's bands like Soundgarden or 3 Doors Down.

"China has issues with heavy smog in its cities unfortunately."

After a stream of furious Chinese replies the censors deleted my comment.

This goes to me thinking every time someone says "we need to appeal to the working class": Which one? The economic group or the people self-identify as working class?
one of the funniest things i've read is that more people work in nonprofits in the US than in manufacturing. The Groups are a bigger constituency than factory guys!

This is the fundamental paradox of AI: if it's actually helping you, there is no way to know when it is no longer helping you.

Put another way: if you can supervise it effectively enough to catch its mistakes, you probably didn't need it in the first place.
Scaling up and shaping up large language models increased their tendency to provide sensible yet incorrect answers at difficulty levels humans cannot supervise, highlighting the need for a shift in AI design towards reliability, according to a paper in Nature. go.nature.com/4eCAnis 🧪
