She had dental surgery many years ago and sometimes her gum flap will get caught on one of the few teeth she has left, making her look like a cat doing a Di Nero impression

I haven’t done aerial in two months now, but I’ve been trying to get back into some movement practice. Now I’m sick again 😂
Convinced chest opening and upper thoracic spine mobility will save me in more ways than 1

Sound on to hear a #chicken literally laughing at her flockmates because she got a juicy grub out of the ground and they didn’t (this is mid victory lap around the yard)

Sorry but I canceled class. A delay til 10 when my classes start at 10 just isn’t hitting when I and all my students were hoping for a snow day… so a snow day we shall have.

I’ve always enjoyed teaching Mills’ (1959) The Sociological Imagination at the beginning of the semester. It’s the oldest text we read & I find that Mills’ main points still resonate… “people often feel that their private lives are a series of traps… they sense… they cannot overcome their troubles”

Some interesting discussions had about learning community guidelines in a college class centered around cultural perspectives.

Students responded to Arao&Clemens (2013) “From Safe to Brave Spaces”framework.

Also I need to lower my expectations of what we can get through in a 50 min class 😬

Responding to our 1st class reading, an excerpt from M. Wheatley’s 2009 book: Simple Convos to Restore Hope to the Future.

We discussed her main point: despite vast differences of culture & tradition, all humans desire the same 4 things: learning, meaning, love, & freedom.
