Elon Musk should be personally liable for fixing all the things he has broken. The costs of restarting programs, rehiring people, is going to be enormous, and the American people should not have to shoulder the costs. He should, as should Trump and every other billionaire who contributed to this.

What this long and detailed NYT piece calmly calls an “extraordinary flexing of power by a private individual” is in fact a blatantly unconstitutional usurpation of Congress’s Article I powers and delegation of the President’s Article II duties.

It seems like someone could take this list and pull up a list of really important science that would be destroyed. Such as stuff about blood-brain barrier or barrier reef (admittedly possibly climate related) or cell barriers.
🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

Tom Homan has suggested they'll need $86 billion extra in appropriations just to start. Congress may attempt to pass that while also insisting we have to cut food stamps and Medicaid.

This is a chokepoint. Let's make sure our members of Congress know to use it. Not one cent for mass deportation.
