To be fair, how can the cops possibly know anything about this guy if he hasn't engraved his manifesto on his bullet casings? Mass shooters need to have some common courtesy so the detectives can do their jobs.

I agree people should be skeptical of what cops say, but I would also like to present these two unnatural-sounding texts from my 16-year-old kid. Lots of people just have odd, slangy, or formal ways of communicating, and many people do a great deal of code-switching between text conversations.
