Decided not to bring the moth trap on our Norfolk holiday and then at the last minute threw the LepiLED light and a white sheet in the car. Good move as we got up yesterday morning to find ‘Big Blue’ on the sheet! @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social @britbutterflies.bsky.social

First time of photographing Green Hairstreak mating. An awkward spot - on a dead bracken frond halfway up a steep bank. I ended up holding my camera with 100-500mm lens above my head and hoping for the best! @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social @britbutterflies.bsky.social

Counted 16 Brimstone driving up the Fosseway through Warwickshire this afternoon. This was one of the very few butterfly species that had a good year in Warwickshire in 2024 which was our worst year on record for most other species! @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social

This Common Snipe appeared to be sunning itself on a local industrial estate pool this morning. Three Snipe in the reeds found with the help of a thermal imager which is proving to be an invaluable birdwatching tool.
