I don't think the Commission understands how much this attack on the GDPR will hurt innovation done by European companies, and instead cement Google's and Meta's position as the inescapable middle-men and turn our SMEs into their cash-cows. WAKE UP!

🔥 Is 1.5°C alive? Although Antonio Guterres warned we have already failed, reports show there is still a path back—if governments actually commit. This is why we need #CANBill: a joined-up, science-led plan to cut emissions and restore nature.

Opposing genocide is the moral duty of our time.

Yet Palestine Action activists have been held in prison for over a year without trial. Six are now on hunger strike.

Detaining peaceful protesters under counter-terror powers is indefensible. This is political imprisonment in all but name.

Laws are bent for the rich.

Wages taxed at marginal rates of 20% – 45% plus national insurance contributions (NIC).

Capital gains taxed at 18% to 32%, no NIC .

Dividends taxed at 8.75% to 39.35%, no NIC.

All income must be taxed at the same rate.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich
The law is being used to enforce existing power structures for the benefit of the few

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

I honestly don’t get the value of this company. They hoover up energy and water. Their product constantly gets things wrong and, in extreme cases, coaches people into suicide.

And it’s all built on what seems to be malicious and vast intellectual property theft.

What does OpenAI offer the world?

Really at a loss of what to make of the David McWilliams effort in today's paper.
Equating the Connolly victory as somehow hearalding Peronism is quite the stretch, to the point of failure.
