Amazing dinner with former Paul Frenette lab heroes — Drs. Yuya Kunisaki (Nature 2013), who pioneered whole-mount bone marrow 2D imaging & arteriole niche, and Noboru Asada (Nat Cell Biol 2017), who discovered perivascular cytokines. Both now lead as physician-scientists—such an inspiring reunion!

Had such an amazing time at the Presidential Dinner #JSH2025 in Kitano, Kobe! Wonderful chats and discussions with hematology/oncology colleagues, exquisite cuisine, and a stunning night view—plus, of course, delicious Kobe beef and whiskey!

Had a wonderful visit to Kobe Univ, Faculty of Medicine—so fun catching up with Dr. Yoshio Katayama (first postdoc of Dr. Paul Frenette) about his time at Sinai, and so impressed by X-ray/Cryo EMs and cutting-edge imaging at Nitta lab! Thanks Yoshio, Eriko & Ryo—a perfect warm-up for #JSH2025 Kobe!
