We must update LARSO and make it more tenant-friendly so LA families aren't forced to choose between paying rent and buying food. Contact the City Council today at acceaction.org/CapTheRentLA and tell them we need a stronger LARSO!

Christina Boyar, an attorney with Public Counsel and a Keep LA Housed member, said minor policy tweaks can greatly affect housing stability:

“While it may seem like a small difference, [an extra 1% or 2% each year] is hundreds of dollars for working families who are already struggling.”

"KLAH wants to let [LA's] allowable increases go as low as 0% in years with flat or negative inflation and end the 10% bump landlords are allowed to charge when tenants bring additional residents into their household. If the council fails to act, rents will be allowed to rise between 3% and 5%."
