Truth in cartoons, 1932/2025: John Heartfield’s cartoon explained the “meaning of the Hitler salute” (“millions stand behind us!”). Grateful we have someone in our age with Ann Telnaes’ courage to show us how wealth capitulates to Trump

“I’m sorry, sir, I didn’t what you said to her. Can you repeat that? I still can’t hear you. Can you say that again, but louder?“
If you are a White House pool reporter and you don’t stick up for your fellow colleagues after Trump calls them “Piggy” or “Stupid” you are tacitly condoning his behavior and just as culpable at Trump.

Shame on you.

Walk out.
Speak up.
Don’t give him an audience.
Courage is contagious.

Ouch. Ohio has been a red state for years but it’s not impossible we may seem red-faced GOP officeholders before long (Iowa, Kansas, NC are some others…)
Ohio’s standard of living has been sinking for eight straight years under Republican rule. Not slipping — crashing. Higher costs, lower wages, crumbling infrastructure, families barely keeping their heads above water.
Now you can feel it: Ohioans are fed up. Done With GOP

If they ever get around to building this thing, it should be bulldozed on Day 1 of a new administration. No messing around, no hemming and hawing about procedure or costs. Order heavy equipment in and start knocking it down immediately, as surely as an overthrown tyrant's statues would be torn down.

This reporter asks a legitimate, followup question—something the White House press corps doesn’t do all that often.

Trump isn’t used to this, and you can see how it gets under his skin.

Reporters need to do this more often, or at least come to the defense of those who are willing to do it.
“You’re a stupid person” — Trump lashes out at a reporter who presses him on the fact that the suspected DC shooter was actually thoroughly vetted before he was let in the US from Afghanistan
