Our calls & outrage are working! Sen Kaine, Rosen, Shaneen & Hassan said if they hear from more of their constituents, they could change their votes from a yes to a no. Rs may not be voting for this bill also, so call your R senators too. Keep the phone calls coming bc it’s working! 202-224-3121

Bernie - "If this resolution passes, we will be throwing 15 million of our fellow Americans off their health insurance.... Studies show that if we throw 15M off health insurance, 50k will die."

He also argued that the vote the GOP has offered is meaningless.

I honestly think that social media has done more to normalize and educate around multiplicity than all the decades of clinical publications on the subject.

I sincerely hope that everyone who got SNAP benefits for November has already spent them. This is beyond ridiculous.

9. The ACLU posted a response to the ruling on Bluesky indicating that trans people should hold off trying to update passports.

This fight isn't over. Our case challenging President Trump's executive order will still move forward.

In the meantime anyone who applies for a new, corrected, or replacement passport, or for a passport renewal, is at risk of having their passport issued bearing the sex they were assigned at birth.

Oh... so now Trump just doesn't want to pay Snap at all. And he's made antisemitic remarks. Cool cool.

Guacamole and chips is not different from avocado toast in the morning. Prove me wrong.

So the administration will send out only half of November's SNAP, but it might take months to go out even though that didn't occur in 2017. And they won't let states fund SNAP, and they are sending threatening letters out to grocery stores that are offering to feed people. Huh....

New plural / DID/ OSDD gender affirmative care research paper just dropped! Most of the authors are lived experience researchers and Refractory members. Some may remember the Turell et al paper called "It's Just a Body"?

Someone tried to shame me as not "normal" for caring about and living in an urban area of CA. I tried a game where I tested their use of "normal" by saying normal is derived from white supremacy concepts. And he did not disappoint. Completely mask off with all the racism and saying something

Some good news about SNAP today. It might get appealed, but that's just going to look particularly terrible in terms of optics for the far right.

No, ABA therapy is NOT the gold standard for supporting autistic children: “Those studies that report children making long-term gains in functioning are of middling scientific quality, casting doubt on the therapy’s status as an authoritative treatment.”

There's an app you can download called Too Good To Go. It's across the United States. It's supported mostly by small local stores. If you're on, you sign up for a mystery box of whatever food or bread for a fraction of the cost they sell it for. This goes for meals as well. It helps them stay

If you're a gov. worker who cannot make rent this month due to the shutdown, there's organizations that will help for a month. You can go to CatholicCharities (they help everyone regardless of faith) or there's County gov programs will also do this and you can call 211.
October 25, 2025 at 12:45 AM
Needing food assistance isn't partisan. I don't think they calculated just how hard this will hit businesses as well. In 2017 emergency funds were appropriated for snap during the shutdown. The Republicans just refuse to allow this. It's giving: "If you don't do what I want, I'll starve the kids"
October 24, 2025 at 10:09 PM
There's some folks reporting that they are getting notices that if snap left on cards isn't used up by Nov 1st, the gov is taking that money back. Which is wild. So if you're on benefits, please plan accordingly for food purchases.

#Allistic people rarely, if ever, wonder if they are #autistic. Seriously.

If you often think you might be autistic, hit this place up and take the actual tests that PsyD's use to assess. If the numbers support you, time to consider whether or not you need a formal diagnosis (self-DX is valid).
