Fun fact: The Boss is from Freehold & still lives nearby, a few miles from me

Freehold is the seat of Monmouth County, very red & arguably the center of MAGA in NJ

MAGA Gov candidate is Jack Ciattarelli. His ads praise Trump, embrace MAGA, etc.

So far, no word from Jack on Trump v. Boss . . .

Low information voters. A feature of most modern democracies. Long ago, he figured out a way to activate them while maintaining the information vacuum.

Obviously not an easy fix & not the only reason we're here, but certainly enough to get him over the top.

Non-MAGA must decode this. And fast.

3/ in other words, the premise that "if enough citizens speak-up, Congress will listen and act accordingly," while being procedurally valid simply doesn't reflect the reality of what motivates these "creatures of Washington" to act.

Disheartened, not defeated. Need more options.

2/ "Part of what's frightening to me about this moment is you've got a lot of creatures of Washington who haven't had to be responsive to people in a while being coupled with creatures of enormous wealth who haven't heard no in a long time. And now they're just feeding off each other, right?"

1/ Sadly - and reluctantly - I think your "pragmatism" is spot-on.

I keep going back to something @petebuttigieg.bsky.social said about a month ago on @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social: (from transcript - see next post):

So, does that mean you consider DOGE to be a legitimate cabinet-level Agency, Congressman?

He's way ahead of Kerkering. So, that's something.

Every time I see this guy, I just assume he got the gig because Puck wasn't available.
May 16, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Thank you, Senator, for alerting voters to this latest overtly corrupt attempt.

How do you plan to stop this growing abuse of power?

Wait for Midterms?
May 15, 2025 at 2:48 PM
There's the black-and-white of the Constitution. And there's 21st Century Politics.

Don't get me wrong, am a huge proponent of pressing forward.

But the reality of D's mindset must be considered. Seems to me that, despite growing constituent outcry, D's are focused on midterms. Am I wrong?
May 15, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Ugh.

Impeach him already.

Why so accommodating?
May 14, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Again, the notion of stopping his behavior is predicated on a belief that there are enough votes to do so.

Am I the only one worried about securing enough D votes almost as much as R votes?

C'mon. Norm! Absent all D's supporting Impeachment, do you really think he'll take any of this seriously?
