Nathaniel William Horadam @horadam.bsky.social 1. Marci Overstreet has been an awful councilmember for 8 years, and may have run the worst citywide campaign I've seen in my time in ATL. Nowhere to be seen, and acts entitled to the Council Prez post while Rohit pounds pavement, advertises on digital media, and inspires a grassroots following. She deserves to lose, but his DSA politics would be unconstructive and are deeply out of touch with the reforms Atlanta actually needs in city government. Fortunately the post doesn't carry much actual power, and the winner can't do too much damage. 2. Because this is an off-year election, I wouldn't pay too much attention to county-level results as indicative of 2026 trends. For instance, there'll be eyes on Fayette County next year as the likeliest Dem flip and a bellwether for statewide results. But it probably won't matter this year. 3. The Peter Hubbard vs Fitz Johnson PSC seat is the state's most important election. I didn't weigh in previously (I didn't think it appropriate as a federal energy employee), but even with an effective mulligan next year for this seat, it's crucial Dems pull off the win with Hubbard. Tim Echols has been a great supporter of renewables, nuclear energy, and electric vehicles, is a man of convictions (I can attest) in environmental stewardship, and on balance I believe Georgia is better off with him serving on the PSC vs. a generic Dem.
