If you have 17.12 Preview or later (and now 17.12 GA), you will not.

Attached is what I saw, can you see it?

The background of the pointer was being changed to what we aptly call a "spinning donut" internally.

2013 did not do this, so my brain was instinctively waiting for that before I felt the IDE was done and therefore increasing "my perceived" startup time.

Visual Studio 2022's splash screen shows up approx. 100ms later than Visual Studio 2013 manually testing it.

This was confusing to me after I traced it, as relative to their main method entry point, they both take about the same amount of time to render and show the window.

What was going on?

I confirmed I was sitting at a window seat with the agent when I checked in, but I'm sitting here thinking that it's probably my fault that I specifically didn't ask for one with an **actual** window.
