Hello.
From what I can tell these are population circles for 5km or more likely 3 miles. You can use @tomforth.co.uk ‘s tool here to check but these are my estimates below for New York www.tomforth.co.uk/circlepopula...

The (decommissioned) National Charge Point Registry is still listed on data.gov.uk, which would be fine (historical data), if the summary was updated accordingly.

But you might figure it out, as none of the links to data work: www.data.gov.uk/dataset/1ce2...

@owenboswarva.bsky.social thoughts?

Malta, what's going on? Or is this a HUGE error?

I'm expecting the latter, but perhaps this is the result of all those golden passports? www.bbc.com/news/article...

Read this headline (below) and came immediately over here to see what @jonworth.eu had to say.
A likely branding issue where old Eurostar = London to European destinations. New(ish) brand is that plus the Thalys network. www.eurostar.com/uk-en/about-...
Dortmund to Cologne anyone?

Live from the International Space Station, all day, every day!
This is the view from the 4K camera.

*Also... Why has no one mentioned this to me before?

The Cité des Sciences. Absolutely amazing outside and in. Near by is the Paris Philharmonic building which is equally off planet looking.
October 4, 2025 at 2:29 PM
No. I’m in Paris. At least I think I am…
October 4, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Paris or another planet? You decide.

The canal in Pantin, Paris this morning. A lovely start to the day, together with some pastries and coffee.

btw I can book the Eurostar part in December, proving that making bookings available is possible 6 months rather than 3 months in advance. Examples below. (Also ouch!)

But I live a long way from Paris or Lille.
Due to when Christmas and new year's day land this year, I'd recommend to book early.

In further Breton cider news, I would henceforth like my cider served cellar-cold in a cup.
September 9, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Okay! So I see what you mean about Leclerc in Brittany! Soooo different to my local one.

This also made me smile.

Love this.

Not cheesy chips but not far off… Brets*, sticking to its true Breton roots with salted butter flavour crisps.

*Brets are the French equivalent of Tyrell’s.

It’s delightful to walk around. What’s most noticeable, other than the lack of vehicles, is the lack of noise. Photos to illustrate what it’s like and how it’s done.

Agh! Forgot the Alt text. Here’s the photo again.

I’m sipping a coffee by the old port of La Rochelle. No sun but a nice view. However if this were many other port cities (waves to Marseille) all you’d see is cars. The city centre, and others in the area, is now authorised traffic and bikes only. Cc @brenttoderian.bsky.social

In further cheesy chips news, I’ve reached La Rochelle and a tapas bar by the old port.

Voici: frites feta truffées comme à St Barth. (Chips with feta and truffle)

NB: The Aubusson fondu version were superior, but one has to suffer for one’s reviews.

In French culinary news, when you think you’ve seen all the possible cheese and potato options this country has to offer….

May I present, fondue frites à la base de Camembert. Yes, cheesy chips.

The Tour de France isn’t just about bikes. Some stand out vehicles from the pre-race caravan.
July 25, 2025 at 1:58 PM
The road crossing has been jazzed up. This is the lowest point at 660m (just measured it) before the riders start the climb up to La Plagne at 1800m, 24 hair pin bends from here.

Cycled a few kilometres down the road to see the Tour de France. Seems appropriate.
