A solar filament located in the southern hemisphere just lifted off. The trajectory should be mostly south of the Sun-Earth line, so any associated CME will be directed away from our planet. Image by GOES-16. SolarHam.com

A likely X-Flare was just detected off the northeast limb peaking at 07:42 UTC (Nov 25). Although the solar X-Rays reached M9.4, the event was possibly stronger due to the source region not yet being in view. We will get a better look at the source during the next 24-48 hours. Stay tuned!
