So Red Bull is revealing the RB22 and the VCARB3 in Detroit because of the power unit partnership with Ford. I feel like Cadillac's going to have to one-up this somehow.

A bit of a contrarian view. Democrats likely won't pay a price for this in the midterms. The American memory is quite short on political machinations. But Republicans are about to learn a central tenet of American politics: You cannot give people a benefit and then take it away.

Old sweetheart of mine moved back into town, and I misjudged it as a Hallmark film opening. Nope, it's a Nordic noir opening. She has memory lapses from drinking and is looking into the murder of our old teacher. Lots of coffee and full frontal nudity, but it's been bleak coffee and nudity.

I was planning on doing a quick run today but a below-freezing wind chill quickly disabused myself of that notion. Not gonna be miserable when I'm not in an active training block.

My favorite two anecdotes about Napoleon Bonaparte:
a) Ludwig van Beethoven had initially composed his third symphony in honor of Napoleon. Upon hearing the news that Bonaparte had crowned himself emperor, he immediately crossed out the dedication. (1/2)
'Woke' Napoleon never becomes dictator, let alone emperor, and probably remakes Europe far more thoroughly as a result.

On top of everything else, he completely shat on what could've been an *amazing*, legendary legacy continuing his earlier career.

All he had to do was preserve the Republic.
If you don’t think Woke Napoleon would have been awesome you have no heart
If you don’t think Woke Napoleon is an impossible contradiction in terms you have no brain

If I had nearly 30 grand to spend on clothes and accessories, I probably wouldn't dress like a child on laundry day. Guess I'm just built different.

Noah Smith? More like Noah Braincells, amirite?
Noah Smith is paid in the high six-figures to write a blog read by Americans who believe themselves to be intelligent. Yet, he is both unable to read a sign and also for some reason chose to have a 90 minute layover for a flight that takes 90 minutes.

Today I learned (thanks, NPR) that from 1875 to 1975, there were more than 6,000 commercial shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. The publicity of song led to safety standard changes and there has not been a single commercial wreck since then.
