Update: a GIANT house spider is in my room, at large. Spider reddit would have me believe their bite is “harmless” but I don’t see any other suspects so I beg to differ

Camp-style mug I threw for @mollypop89.bsky.social a couple years ago. Made about 5 months after starting pottery, it remains one of my best mugs 😅

Backstory - Molly played Harriet Beaver on @playtrp.bsky.social and this was her campaign slogan when she ran for Rhodes Sheriff. Iconic.

Carved tumbler from last year. Love all the variations this glaze is giving. Shoutout to Clay Art Center’s Cola Green.

A set of inspirational tiki mugs I made a couple years back. Forms are thrown and then altered.

The orange one says “hey, don’t stop believin’ :D”

The green says “LOVE that 4 U =D”

Capuccino cup with landscape inspired glaze. Made about a year ago and hated it when it came out of the kiln. But having ignored it for the past year, I’m starting to think I like it a lot 😅

Someday I’ll get gud at photographing pottery but today is not that day.

Lots of experimentation here - hand made stamp pattern inspired by Paul Linhares, darting to accentuate the handle. Would have liked a thinner glaze application. Making stamps was really fun!

Listen. So much went right with this one. But the surface is not what I dreamed of 😅. Tried layering slip, wax resist, and glaze a la eurekapots.bsky.social It was so fun but I def need to refine and explore.

Love the handle tho, ultra inspired by amythepotter.bsky.social

1.

Finally went out to my studio to spring clean having not set foot in there since last July when the “morning” sickness hit.

It was too spidery and I gave up cleaning 🙃🥸

I had a little pile of mugs just sitting on my workbench - I took them out of the kiln and never went back lol.

Back yard flowers after a surprise thunder storm. Can’t quite decide which edit I prefer - iPhone doesn’t seem to love capturing purple.

1st is unedited, 2nd has colors closer to what I see in person, 3rd has a nice vibe imo.

More blooms from my back yard. We have sooo many fat clumsy bumble bees 🥺

Spring in my back yard. Every day something new is blooming.

The house we’re renting was built in the 20s and at the yard was once (years or decades ago) immaculately kept. There’s around 10 raised beds under mountains of blackberries, 2 fruit trees, too many varieties of rhododendrons to track…

Lovely characters guided me to examine the power of building diverse communities as an act of resistance in troubling times. Valuable food for thought if you’d like to be out protesting but are instead keeping your newborn fed and safe 💖

4.5 ⭐️

Cozy and hopeful feeling as Chambers’ usual. I’ve loved this series as a whole; The world building was especially captivating in this one. Great for people trying to imagine a future that isn’t apocalyptic for their new baby.

* Caution advised if you’re, say, a new mom listening to audio books while breastfeeding/pumping. Themes of miscarriage, mother-daughter bonds, and death. Perfect if you’re already crying multiple times a day and want to just lean into that.

One thing I’ll be doing today, in lieu of watching the inauguration of a felon and sexual abuser, is meditating in honor of David Lynch’s 79th birthday.

What will you be up to?
