Is there a word for the feeling that comes over you when you see someone you think you know and then you realize it couldn’t be them bc they are dead?

No AC in the uber. Rarely do I order an uber, but when I do it’s to avoid the sweat and sticky of biking or public transit. When the uber driver doesn’t have AC it simply defeats the purpose. 😒

Philadelphians- Let Zohran Mamdani's victory inspire you to run for Committee Person in 2026

The entrenched and sclerotic machine can be disrupted, but only if the people step up and demand change

Former Mayor Kenney writes this op-ed in defense of:
✅ The Zero-Fare Program for low-income Philadelphians
✅ SEPTA Key Advantage for city workers

“For them, $80 to $100 a month in transit costs can mean the difference between putting food on the table or not.”
Jim Kenney: Don’t let the free SEPTA transit pass program die | Opinion
Eliminating the initiative would only mean fewer people able to work, more people relying on public assistance — and an even more heavily strained local economy, writes the former mayor.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

100% always. I attribute most of my professional skills to the 10 years I spent behind a bar.
Also, the value of her time as a bartender should not be overlooked. She’s used to dealing with assholes and knows there’s nothing gained in trying to appease them. We’d all be better off if our leaders came from the service industry rather than being fucking lawyers and business dorks.

The free classes at my gym seriously do NOT play. I’ve paid $30+ for one class at boutique studios that don’t have shit on Carol’s 6pm Cardio/Weights. 😮‍💨

Life hack: Go to your local bike shop and buy a new or used bicycle. Put fenders, rack, and panniers on it. Ride it for every commute under five miles. Groceries, arends, everything. Keep at it.
