It's about finding the best way forward for coexistence and inclusion without equating trans women and trans men as identical to women and men. There are differences, needs, transition v self-ID, degrees of comfort, privacy, respect, safety that can be healthily discussed without protest & placards

Rather than employment advisers, how about more mental health staff, not threatening the benefits of the vulnerable and ill, that would help employment more. The NHS mental health system is so broken, long waits and impossible to get help. I've got more help from MIND because the NHS doesn't work.

I neither believe in blanket inclusion nor exclusion of trans people in single sex spaces. It depends on context, transition, agency, dignity, and safety. Intersecting gender & self-ID within a sex based society is complex and requires nuance, empathy and hearing of legitimate concerns without hate

When Dr. Goodall relayed her observations to Louis Leakey, he was stunned. Making tools seemed like a hallmark of humans and far beyond the ability of a mere ape.

“Now we must redefine ‘tool,’ redefine ‘man,’ or accept chimpanzees as humans,” he declared

"The only way forward is to rebuild discourse not on the theatre of hate but on the stubborn, radical act of restraint. Critical thinking. Respecting differences even when they grate. Refusing caricature. Refusing dehumanisation. Refusing to see politics as war."

"It is words that make genocide thinkable, that turn neighbours into killers, that dress political rivals up as monsters. Guns kill the body, but words decide who it is permissible to shoot in the first place."

"Words are fuel. They can warm a hearth or burn a kingdom to ash. The pen is every bit as mighty as the sword — sometimes more so... Because aside from guns, it is words that load the chamber. It is words that decide who counts as “enemy” and who deserves protection."

90% of attacks on women and girls are by people (95% men) known to them, 70% at home. Whilst stranger danger is real, familiarity risk is higher. Immigrant scapegoating is a distraction from all types of men committing VAWG.

I am saddened by how backwards things have gone and the inhumane factuality and legislative tone of policy enactment.

Understanding, should have been mutual. Inclusion and belonging, for all. Nuance where needed, humanity respected everywhere.

This is empathy-less mission creep, though a logical extension of a law based upon biology alone, not humanity or personhood.

It marks the UK as in step with the current US administration but out of step with most of Europe and many countries in S America and even SE Asia.

UK Trans can now be banned from all toilets, though services must provide an alternative, so toilets may well just become toilets and ironically lose a single sex space. Even post-op Trans women will have to change with men at pools and gyms. Anyone can have their sex challenged and have to prove it
