That last sentence made my year. Hell yes. The people will always come out on top if we unite and fight together. Eat shit, moneybaggers!

A combination of crowds and a chronic labor shortage is spelling trouble for Japan's restaurants. A new government report highlights just how close many restaurant managers are to crossing the so-called “death by overwork” line.
Report: Nearly 30% of Japan’s Restaurant Managers Work 60-Hour Weeks - Unseen Japan
A new report finds that one-third of all restaurant managers are so busy that they're at risk of working themselves to death.

It is quite honestly breathtaking what a complete and utter fail Columbia’s total submission to Trump has been, for the university and academia at large.

They’re now the poster child for fascist takeover of academia and they have no easy way to back out and retroactively take a stand.

Pathetic.

A race between two stubbornly, emphatically independent films like ANORA and THE BRUTALIST is a beautiful, strange thing — and a real indicator Hollywood is still enamored by the kinds of films it now refuses to fund. Gives you hope things might turn around.

TLDR: There is nothing enforceable for the immediate future. It will take months or years to implement this via rulemaking or bureaucratic changes which are then subject to legal challenge. While it's worrying, there's no immediate change yet for most trans people. Do not comply in advance.

which is it, Joe? are we pardoning innocent people in advance because a fascist is about to try to throw them in jail for political reasons, or are we normalizing the peaceful transfer of power to a dictator by having a good laugh with him in the Oval Office for the cameras
BREAKING: President Biden just pardoned:

* General Mark Milley
* Dr. Anthony Fauci
* Jan. 6 Committee members of Congress and staffers
* The police officers who testified before the Jan. 6 Committee

Biden says these pardons are not an acknowledgment of wrongdoing.

A truly awful day for movies and art, losing one of the most singular and brilliant voices to ever make them.

We've unlocked our full David Lynch issue from 2017, which is now entirely free to read.

R.I.P. Mr. Lynch, and thank you forever for the work and example you left us.

Welp. Apple snuck something dirty in our phones last night.

Settings > Apps > (pick an app) > Siri > Learn From this App

TOGGLE OFF.

You have to go through each app. My garage app, my BANKING APPS, others had that turned on automatically. 😡

Just a heads up for peeps, if you bought a Neil Gaiman audiobook from Audible, they are allowing refunds for them with no questions asked and no matter how long ago you bought them. I don’t even have an active subscription and they gave me credits back for two titles purchased in 2020.
