I've wrapped up the first half of Stage3 this week! Since it's pretty maze-like down there and visibility isn't great,I put signboards along the less distinctive paths to players find the way. Next, I'll start working on the middle section! #GameDev #IndieGameDev #GodotEngine #solodev

Working on creating underground enemies.Cause visibility around them is poor, they're not set to be very strong.It was quite challenging to make them adhere to the ground instead of being affected by gravity and also allow throwed by hook rope.

I've finished creating Stage 2, so I'm about to start working on Stage 3. This time, it’s going to be an underground level—a complete contrast to Stage 2. I’m aiming to wrap this stage up before the year’s over!

Working on the Stage 2 boss again this week, so no major progress to share.
I recently arranged the stage select theme I made earlier using a MegaDrive (YM2612) + effectors setup.
With effectors applied, it might not sound very authentic…
Compare with previous NES version repost.

I've been working on the rest of Stage 2 this week. It's almost done, so next week I'll start making the boss. I started around mid-August, so I guess each stage takes me about two months.🔨

I've been working on the second half of Stage 2 this week. It's still a WIP, but this part's tricky — lots of spots where you can fall if you're not careful. Trying to keep it fun while still challenging is always tough!🤔

I was out a lot this week, so honestly, there’s not much progress.
I just worked a bit on the save data.
Totally unrelated to game dev, but the photo is of a “bell” I found by the side of the road while I was out.
It looks way too small to use in an emergency, so I have no idea what it is🤔

Hop aboard a small airship and start shooting! You'll literally be using "buttons" to control it🎮.
The enemy movements I made last week were a bit too difficult, so now a warning🚨 will appear before they shoot.

This week, I created two enemy characters for the aerial stage. I had a bit of trouble that create using the hook rope to throw enemies that aren't affected by gravity.

How about hanging onto a cannonball and soaring through the sky?
It's not super exciting gameplay-wise, but it does help mix up the pacing — pretty neat.
As an extra step, we’ll probably need to add enemies at the landing spot.

The second stage is set in the sky, so it’s going to be an aerial battle.

This week, I added a feature to the stage-clear sequence that displays a bonus based on the number of citizens rescued. I’ve liked "Metal Slug" does this, so I tried implementing something similar.I hope it gives off the right vibe. #GameDev #IndieGameDev #GodotEngine #solodev

Still working on the tutorial castle!
Supporting both keyboard and game controllers is tricky-figuring out how to show the controls in-game isn't easy.
Low-reso icons alone feel a bit unreliable, so I've added text explanations.

This week, I created a new castle🏰stage along with a music track!
The stage is part of the story and serves as a tutorial, so no enemies here.
Next week, I’ll be adding some signboards with gameplay instructions to the background!

This week, I implemented the bomb item. It can destroy fragile blocks that cannot be broken with a regular sword.

Shopping is finally working after this week’s updates.
Not much has changed visually, so it’s kinda low-key… but,I struggled a lot because I was sloppy with managing variables and state😅
Note to self: Next time, no shortcuts—design it right!

I'm continuing to work on the shop scene. The screen transitions and animations are mostly complete, and the sound has been added. Once the purchasing functionality is implemented, it will be nearly finished.
