I had an opportunity to experience my first Educator Spring Open House at the Heinz History Center the evening before our Pittsburgh area’s big storm. I loved experiencing the archive room —the Detre Library & Archives is free for all visitors and a great resource for teachers.

I need to chat with someone to understand why PA is not dark green on this map from Amplify. go.info.amplify.com/getintouchopti…

📸 of my desk on a week in early Spring:

Students spelling /ar/ words in “A Starry Night” after explicit instruction.

& all the Morphology Trees, Fab 4 Charts, text marking needed to comprehend a text about 🐦‍⬛🦇🐝🦋 after a Close Reading!

Canva has great templates with a built in AI image generator.

It’s all I have at the moment— but much needed for my afternoon energy level. Tweaking a presentation for adults and then one more class to teach. Instant espresso.

Finally sunshine…streaming on my desk… ☀️ as I look over last year’s presentation I put together. Every year for over 10 years now— I host my “Warm Up To A Good Book” for my students. Book talks & hot chocolate! Almost time for 2025’s round.
