I feel like it should also be noted that the 16.33% added on to the consumer price in this graphic seems like best case scenario. For smaller manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers the mark up often has to be much, much, much more than this.

Hi! I don’t have experience with a rope brake like this, but the setup looks very similar to the tension brakes that are on looms like Leclercs and Schachts. It may be helpful to take a look at those to get a better idea.

My general rule is to wet finish the fabric before cutting in the same method that you plan on washing the finished object. Remember that water + agitation + soap is how you felt wool. So if that’s not the type of finish you’re going for proceed with extreme caution if putting into the machine.

It’s all a mess and part of the kicker is too that I believe Brassard uses a lot of American grown cotton for their house line. At least they were several years ago when I asked.
