The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS

I'm making a weird face but whatever ... not overthinking on #sewsky !!!
I posted about agonizing over what to make with the rest of this fabric that I ADORE from Blackbird, and I finally made something! Landed on a Collins Top because apparently I only had around 3/4 of a yard left. Worked nicely!

Thank you, I’ll have plenty! I used to crochet a long time ago and just started knitting a few weeks ago.

It’s been a great way to stop doomscrolling and reflect 😌

I’ve finished a Sophie scarf and have started a sweater. (I’m waiting for more purple yarn & am casting on a new cardigan as I wait 🫣)

I think today I'm going to make an #antheablouse out of this really nice viscose from Blackbird fabrics. Unless you have another genius (work friendly) blouse ideas for me😄

this thread is amazing. Ever since Jan 20 I've been freaking out... but you know what??? There are MILLIONS of Americans who are going to fight for what's right and that's so goddamn comforting.
This comments section is the first time I've felt even a shred of hope in eight days.

I made a starter pack for other sewists migrating over from meta-based apps. Includes home sewists, independent pattern designers, and some fabric merchants. If you have adds, please share them with me so we can grow the list!

I asked my insta friends this same question...
If it was your birthday next week (it's mine!!), what fabric would you buy yourself as a little treat?!?!

Approx 30’ish percent of American voters does not = a mandate by the people. Trump uses this rhetoric to validate policy & initiatives that less than 33.333% of people voted in. Important info to keep in mind as the word mandate gets thrown around like candy for his base & as propaganda for the rest
Remember: no mandate, no majority. 37.75% of the electorate didn't vote; 31.5% voted for him; 30.6% voted for her.
