I don’t agree with the Mayor often, but on this we agree wholeheartedly.

Important story! Tenants are losing water bc landlords don’t pay the bill. LL have 💦 at their houses, but fail to pay the bill at properties they own and have the bill in their name. Imagine this summer w/o water!
A 🧵 on 🚰 : For years, @dcwater.bsky.social rarely shut off water at residential buildings for unpaid bills. Why? Because it would impact many tenants, and many buildings have a single water meter in the name of the owner. This spring, the policy changed.

Let’s go back to 2014 and recognize that putting families in congregate shelter puts kids in danger & (re) traumatizes families. Let’s choose safety & health and veer away from this path. Policy is a moral choice here!

As an @nyulaw.bsky.social alum, very disappointed not to see NYU Law on this list. Law schools should be promoting rule of law & protecting all lawyers for zealously advocating for their clients.

We demonize immigrants for breaking the law, but if they pay taxes, we are going to use the data to deport them. This is a campaign of hatred and racism at its core and we should be better than this.

GOP is out to devastate DC. Cutting jobs plus direct budget cuts. Then saying we can’t govern ourselves. DC is an amazing city (with an always balanced budget) and this is just wrong!
