Laburnum Arch at @nationaltrust.org.uk Bodnant Gardens North #Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It flowers for about 3 weeks from late May to early June. At over 140 years old & 55 meters long, it's believed to be the oldest & longest flowering arch in the UK. 💛

Time stood still - Oradour-sur-Glane 🇫🇷

On 10 June 1945 a SS unit encircled the village & within hours they had murdered 642 men, women & children. The site was left in exactly the same state and has a display of watches which had stopped at the time of the attack.

Thank you. The photo was taken by my twin sister Sue. We had displays like this every night of our 4 night trip. Wild swirling vivid green skies.

Just come back from a road trip doing the west coast of Scotland from Mallaig to Durness. Had a fantastic time - lochs, mountains, waterfalls, lighthouses, beaches, harbours & gardens.

Lucked out with the weather & also got to see the Northern Lights!

White sands of Balnakeil Bay beach at the most north westerly point of Scotland. A photo of the top of Clashnessie waterfalls as the river cascades over the top of the highest part of the fall. Stoer Lighthouse with Aurora in the sky behind. Looks like a multicoloured curtain backdrop with pink, purple and green light shining vertically down. Also visible, albeit faintly, are many stars. Glenfinnan Viaduct seen from the hillside opposite showing how it dramatically crosses the valley. This was our first day and was quite overcast with squally showers.

Watched one brave soul braving the sea today - we dipped our toes in the water yesterday. That was more than enough 🥶

Not sure we’ll get as far as Bettyhill but we did a 4 mile walk to get to Sandwood Bay yesterday which was also stunning.

Balnakeil Beach between Durness and Cape Wrath. Stunning views and amazing weather. The walk from the car park takes you through tall dunes and across to rocky cliffs where birds nest. On the headland is Cape Wrath Training Camp which has restricted entry and must be part of the periodic MOD firing exercises.
