Yes, I am Gen X and was taught to read in the 70s. I love reading and I am an avid reader. I do not have kids and this podcast blew my mind on how they teach kids to read in many schools now. Everyone should listen to this podcast. Add this to the lack of critical thinking and it explains so much.

Yes, last night was anxiety ridden for me as well. I am extremely busy with work and I have been reading the news but I have not been interacting with the outside world as in chores or other social activities, so I am not reminded that there are nice normal people in my world. It leads to a spiral.
