I don't know, but I would like to add "luxury condo" to the list.

I am happy to take on executive function for the entire room & can handle building and maintaining the script delivery schedule if that’s helpful.

I am also, of course, a writer. Left to my own devices, I write about queer women having adventures and about issues of identity and belonging. 🧵

I also have experience with clearances and managing script changes through production.

My background is in theatre, where I worked as a stage manager for more than 15 years.

Which means that taking care of creative folks is my specialty and that I possess truly formidable organizational skills. 🧵

I’ve been a writers’ assistant and story coordinator on LESS THAN KIND and KIDS IN THE HALL, as well as several projects in development.

The notes I take in the writers’ room are regularly praised for their clarity, organization and comprehensiveness. And I am a trained proofreader. 🧵

Anyway, the concert was amazing. She sounded wonderful regardless. And Massey Hall was a real change from the Molson Amphitheatre, I have to say. Super intimate. And not outdoors in November!

Almost like the “what ifs” we build for in case an actor goes out. (It’s often not a straight swap with the understudy.)

So are there different variations for different levels of illness and voice stress? Does she riff or plan with her backup singers in advance?

Like I said, once a stage manager…

In related news, listening to Sarah McLachlan sing fully half a show entirely in her chest voice was FASCINATING.

Like, she’s been doing this for 38 years, so these variations to accommodate illness must be familiar and well-rehearsed.

Did I mention this happened on Halloween? I wish I was kidding… 😂

I’m so sorry, Maya. Sending love and support. I’ve been there and it sucks.

Just wait until the battery starts dying for good. Mine did a full-on horror-comedy routine. Insistent beeping in the night. Turned itself on and WOULD NOT SWITCH OFF. Can’t keep it in the house, because loud. Can’t put it in the outdoor bins, because neighbours. I ended up beating it with a hammer.
