Photography February, Day 1

A very apt one for this wintery day. St Albans, 2024. I liked the sparkle of the frost in the foreground, and how it clashed with the sunny green of the cypress.

The recipe for my extremely fluffy and very orangey scones is now available on my blog! (And no, I'm not getting embroiled in either the pronunciation debate, or the jam-vs-cream-on-first debate. Just make them!)

I don't think Bluesky has seen the dorky side of me yet. So, behold. I accidentally typed 'nose cancelling headphones' in my WIP, and now this is the image I cannot get out of my head. You can't say I don't use my graphic design skills.

Look at that precious little face!

Here's another picture of the spectacular London sunset the other day. Unfortunately, it features an impostor on the left. So let's reframe it as a picture of London, featuring a real Londoner!!

London is spectacular in the sunset! (I may end up using this for a future book...)

I don't think this house could possibly get any more festive!
December 13, 2024 at 10:18 AM
I did a thing.

Behold, my short festive spin-off to A Different Kind Of Pride! It checks in with all the characters you know and love, and gives you the happiest of endings for Victoria and Anastasia!

Available as an ebook or on KU 🎄

(Wanted it to be free, but Amazon said no!)

This topic is a bit different for me; I've been sitting on it for a while. You may have wondered what my day job is - well, here's why I don't talk about it. Because I'm stuck in it. Because the job market won't let me move.

Please read and share.

I won't lie, I find it frustrating to see the same few books recommended for Pride month. I'm sure you are too. So here is my attempt to change that: 50 Sapphic books that you probably don't know about. Please read and share - let's show them some love!

Did you know that today is #NationalTeacherAppreciationDay? In this snippet from Love You However, acting-headteacher Petra tells spouse Jean about the pressure she's under. I have the greatest admiration for every single person who works in the education industry: you, like Petra, are all troopers!

You may have been wondering why I wrote Love You However. I, after all, am a) cis, b) in my twenties and c) not married. So why did I write a novel with a married person in their fifties undergoing a gender crisis?

Here I explain why.

❤️ IT'S HERE!!! ❤️

Love You However, my heart-tugging, deep, explorative novel of Sapphic love, marriage and gender identity, is out today! Paperbacks will come soon, but if you're an eBook person, it's available on the 'Zon and Kindle Unlimited now!

In this really-badly-translated version of Love You However, Petra screams at Jean, becomes a man, and cries. Jean loses their mind, they get re-married, they hug, laugh, feel tension, and after a delay, Petra kisses Jean's hair. (Only the latter happens in the real thing.)

What an eye-catching cover Elizabeth James has for The Turkey Baster Diaries. And I will admit, the title made me chuckle. If you know what it's about... I imagine you did too. And you'll want to read her #SapphicFictionFebruary interview, of course!

I have Issy Waldrom to thank for introducing me to kitsunes! And the best bit? You can read about them, and more about Issy, in this interview of hers for #SapphicFictionFebruary!
