From the time they told us that we were short the 1100 signatures, we have 10 days to try to make that up, which is Monday, 12/1, meaning we have to do this over a holiday weekend. Thinking this was probably on purpose as well.

They then took the full 20 days to let us know that they had rejected 1100 of our 4600 signatures that we collected. We asked the election authority to release those signatures so we could look at them and they have not responded. We have issued a sunshine law request to get those signatures.

After collecting petitions for six months, we handed in the petitions, over 4600, after which we were told by the city clerk that our number that they had given us was incorrect and upped it by another 200 signatures needed.

They want the power back from the park board. The mayor has stated that he wants to sell off part of another park to build houses on.

There is also a lawsuit that has been filed from two city council people with the backing of the mayor against the park board in regards to a 2012 amendment we voted on giving the park board authority over park land and related funds. They stated this was unconstitutional.
