I’ve been making an effort to bake more. I made 6 loaves of sourdough in the last 5 days. These 2 are going to our neighbors.

Hubby made pork shank for dinner. So good!!! And enough meat on the bone for 2 more meals. $6 per shank.

Really good. I used rye in place of whole wheat in my flour mixture. Love the texture, and it toasts beautifully. Hubby said it’s a winner. How was the soup?

The news is depressing as hell, so here are some pics of beautiful Trout Lake in northern Wisconsin. It’s always on our list of places to visit when we’re up here, as it reminds us of the many times we skipped stones at this very spot, when our girls were little.

At the end of this road is the log home we built in 2002 (sold in 2018). We have a lot of happy memories there. I won’t go back to see it; too bittersweet.

It’s still pretty early here, too. Hoping to catch the cranberries being harvested, though. That’s fun to see.
