I do feel there has been a gradual recovery and that this year especially there is a notable positive difference in my high school juniors - they are engaging with each other and the materials meaningfully. (COVID impacts affected district policies / approaches for more than one year, too.)

A student, part-time vo-tech/ part time traditional academic student with zero interest in 3rd level education, asked me, "Do YOU want to go to doctor who got through college on AI?" How to help students see the real life consequences of asking AI to do the thinking? Not talking grades.

Mentors for new teachers or for pre-service (we call them cooperating teachers in NJ)? In either case, definitely agree that recognition/respect for demands of mentor role lacking in current system. But would that get better by seating program in the school that already overtaxes its staff?
