After a pretty wonderful few days and 1800 miles of road, I finally got to see my folks and their ridiculous dog, Abby, whom I adore. Hope everyone traveling for the holidays has safe journeys.

My mother would have turned 88 today if she were still alive. She was a difficult mother for me. But I keep trying to shift my lens and see her brilliance and her struggle, to forgive her & sympathize with her.

We are going to be offering a free meal to anyone who needs it. All we ask is that you come visit the store and ask for the "Community Special". We will be offering a bean or beef burrito along with an order of Potato Olés for anybody in need. No questions asked. Our number one job is to feed our community. We are going to make sure that everybody can have a hot meal no matter what.

My host family in Spain made me take dance lessons and wear a classic Sevillanas dress. Hadn’t seen this photo, taken in 1985, until today.
