Not taking anything away from Senator Padilla because he was treated atrociously

But I JUST want to remind everyone that the Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, a Black woman, was just indicted for just asking questions at an ICE detention center in her state

Keep that same energy of support for her

Resign, Kristi Noem
Kristi Noem must resign. She has deported a four year old with cancer, detained a U.S. marshal, and arrested two members of Congress. She’s lost the confidence of the American people. ICE must stop terrorizing our communities.

Exactly. THIS is what we expect
Chris Van Hollen flying down to El Salvador and refusing to leave until he got in a room with Kilmar Abrego Garcia blows up every other “well what do you expect them to do?” defense for elected Democrats

Make America Suppress Voting Again.
Forcing people to pay $130 for a passport in order to vote is just a Jim Crow poll tax by another name.

It is blatantly unconstitutional.

Call you senators please - to vote no on the voter suppression aka SAVE act
I don't see it being reported much, but just know that The SAVE Act would also make it impossible for the vast majority of trans people in this country to vote.

If voting requires a birth certificate or passport with one's legal name (not their birth name), most trans folks can't vote.

Yup

Agree w investigating these insider traders aka criminals @warren.senate.gov
Trump took his tariff insider trading scheme to Congress and made Marjorie Taylor Greene an offer she couldn’t refuse. MTG is now a gleeful participant in Trump’s crime spree.

Profiteering at the public’s expense. Trump and his partners in crime chuckle and celebrate as millions of Americans suffer shocking financial losses.
“He made 2.5 million today and he made $900 million. That’s not bad.”

Sounds like market manipulation to me. That’s bad.

The House of Representatives will vote on the SAVE Act today - call your Representative and tell them to vote NO!

202-224-3121
69M married women could lose their voting rights if the SAVE Act is passed. Transgender individuals too.

Why? Absent a valid passport, you must present a birth certificate *with the same name as your registration* to be registered.

This is insane!

A man who disparages empathy: the cruelty (and grift) is the point
According to a source, when Musk privately messages associates and confidants about reports from federal staffers about how their lives have been wrecked, the Tesla CEO is known to react with laugh-crying emojis.

This is staggering, and horrific. The grift and greed and inhumanity. And don’t think they’ll stop at immigrants.

"The Trump administration is seeking to spend tens of billions of dollars to set up the machinery to expand immigrant detention on a scale never before seen in the United States...more than a sixfold increase in spending to detain immigrants."
Trump Administration Aims to Spend $45 Billion to Expand Immigrant Detention (Gift Article)
A request for proposals for new detention facilities and other services would allow the government to expedite the contracting process and rapidly expand detention.

I have been saying this when I call my reps to yell at them. Now I can say "As Justice Sotomayor says..."

Call your reps and demand they call for the release of Mahmoud Khalil and all of the other detained students as well as the folks sent to the concentration camp in El Salvador.

Sotomayor: "The implication of the Government’s position is that not only noncitizens but also United States citizens could be taken off the streets, forced onto planes, and confined to foreign prisons with no opportunity for redress if judicial review is denied unlawfully before removal"
#BREAKING: 5-4 Court, with Barrett joining the three Dem. appointees in dissent *vacates* Chief Judge Boasberg’s temporary restraining orders in the Alien Enemy Act cases. Judicial review must be available, Court holds, but has to come through habeas petitions:

Sheesh. Not only is this inhumane and cruel, it is a ridiculous waste of money. Cui bono? Who gets these contracts? And this is why we can’t have nice things
This is a stunning find, and a glimpse at the Death Star scale of "mass deportation" spending foreseen in the reconciliation bill moving through Congress.

By comparison, "In the last fiscal year, D.H.S. allocated about $3.4 billion for the entire custody operation overseen by ICE."

I scanned dozens of newspapers from around the U.S. & world. On average, international newspapers cover the widespread protests against Trump/Musk and for democracy much more prominently on their covers than those in the U.S.
This isn’t due to deadlines, protests were daytime in the U.S. #handsoff

Yes, businesses absolutely need to show the tariff at the checkout screen. Don't hide it into the cost of the product.
