Incredible. There's so much of Hildegard von Bingen in these images, Andrea. Not in a derivative way—imaginaries in kinship.

I've included reference to your paintings in a write up I just completed. If you're interested to read, I'd be glad to share with you.
The Redeemer. Miniature from Liber Scivias by Hildegard of Bingen (late 1100s) Hildegard von Bingen’s illuminated scene 'The Redeemer' shows a stream, that both looks like a flow of river rushes and flowers, and also a stream of stars. A central circle contains smaller spheres with scenes of various worldly, creaturely and angelic realms of creation. Various figures are caught up in the stream. A figure flaming with golden rays stands on a lower sphere. A large radiating celestial spheres sits at the top of the image: a red and gold sphere with a blue centre that breaks through the line of the manuscript border itself.

Grateful to witness the steadfast, attentive work of Tibetan monks Ven. Geshe Jamyang Sherab & Ven. Karma Gyasey creating a sand mandala for Medicine Buddha over 7 days. On Saturday the work was complete. On Sunday the mandala was tenderly dissolved & the sand released into the lake at Sunshine Bay.
the sand mandala being created... the process follows the exact design and proportions laid down in ancient Buddhist texts on the Medicine Buddha Mandala. The symmetry and structure involves squares with opening portals, radiating circles and flower patterns, with details of vases and dragons. The sand is coloured blue, green, red, white, yellow, black, brown, orange. Each symbol has its place and colour. The Mandala represents the residence of Medicine Buddhas. A picture of the centre of the mandala showing the yellow treasure vase of the King of Medicine Buddhas, with blue medicine, and a white lotus flower above. This green rimmed circle is surrounded by eight petals—red, yellow, green and blue—with symbols of the eight medicine Buddhas. The next sixteen petals are symbols of sixteen major Bodhisattvas: eight male and eight female Bodhisattvas. In the outer twenty-two circles of petals are symbols of ten mundane gods and twelve Yakshas (nature spirits). At the four gates are four directional guardians. Outside the gates, there are gardens surrounded by a lotus and hard boundary lines. The ceremony to dissolve the mandala. Five Tibetan monks walk around the table with the recently completed sand mandala. They wear orange and burgundy red robes and ceremonial yellow crested hats and hold a cymbal and a bell. The Mandala in the process of being tenderly dissolved. A monk's hand holds a big paintbrush. He draws straight and spiral lines to the centre of the sand mandala. Clearing away the grains of sand by creating a pattern like a Dharma Wheel. The sand is in the process of being swept up to be cleared into a pot and offered to the water.
