In today’s West Australian I’m talking about smartphones and kids. Did I film this cringey to camera but in my phone on the walk home from school drop-off? This is multi-tasking, baby! #36months #buythepaper

Very very shocked and chuffed to have my cosy crime book MY FAMILY AND OTHER SUSPECTS take out the ABIA award for best YA book for 13+ this week. It’s an utter joy to find people getting such a kick out of a very WA murder mystery.

Finally someone prepared to answer tough political questions ahead of Kate Chaney’s (celebratory) press conference in Scarborough today. #fedpols

If it sounds like I recorded this in a wind tunnel it’s because I’m in sunny Quindanning for the annual picnic races.

The face of someone who has stood in two long lines at two separate polling stations (it’s a short but boring story) and FINALLY got to cast my votes in the WA election. Privileged to live in a place where voting is compulsory but also ready for tea and a sit-down.

Shout out to @kazcooke.bsky.social for her great book, Girl Stuff 8-12, which I would hard recommend for anyone with kids in that age bracket. My 8yo dragged out her copy yesterday to give her 6yo sister tips for things she could say back to boys at school who were teasing her.
