Book lover, food lover, wine lover but also partial to a good g&t, pedant, cynic. Personal account - mostly lighthearted, occasionally serious.
Bit of a long shot here but would anyone (Dublin based) have use for these new/almost new junior cycle text books? Seems such waste to put them into the recycling. #speirgorm

I’m an eejit for paying it but €9.15 for a takeaway panini seems very steep

Inspired by @darach.bsky.social to share two of my favourite poems for #nationalpoetryday
The second one is fiendishly hard to find online but is by Irish poet Gabriel Rosenstock.
Saw it years ago on the London Underground and was immediately captivated.

I’m no fan of the Trump administration but do other nations not have similar restrictions. I had to get a medical before going to Australia on a work visa.

Anyone know how the “Les Miserables Arena Concert Spectacular” coming to 3Arena differs from Les Miserables? #speirgorm

Some scenes are timeless. This is from the 1500s but could be an image of a technician from a telecoms company installing broadband cables.

From the kids’ school (if I’m right I think also your kids’ school)

Also a straw poll among my patients has “the old one” winning by a margin of about 2:1 against “the glamorous one”

Supposed to be flying to Amsterdam this morning. Got a text last night from Aer Lingus saying flight cancelled due to #StormAmy. Video shows tree in our garden (8km from the airport) this morning. I’m no pilot but pretty sure we could have flown in these conditions.
