Went to Royce Cacao & Chocolate Town in Hokkaido today. It was interesting learning about the harvesting & processing, along with the company's history. And we did a thing where we got to make our own chocolate bar. A good trip with a date or friends! Great for omiyage.

Went to the Hokusai exhibit running until the end of November at Creative Museum Tokyo in Kyobashi. I've seen a lot of his work over the years, but had no idea how incredibly prolific he was, or that he was basically drawing comics in the early 1800s. It's an amazing exhibit that I highly recommend!

I've known there were tacos a little over 3km away in Kodaira, Tokyo, but put off going until now when I'm moving. Of course, it's great! Tacos Mercado is highly recommended. The fish was good & the al pastor even better. Remember, never wait to try new tacos!

Finished the audiobook of Aidan Moher's /Fight, Magic, Items/, & I really recommend it to anyone with an interest in the history of video games. The topics & games feel carefully chosen with a good sense of how everything ties together. Now, I need a print version to go thru w/ a highlighter.

High praise! I'm a bit of an oddball, but I really enjoy single-player content in fighting games. I grinded for ages on the boss achievements for Street Fighter 4, and then I had back-to-back runs where everything fell into place. Will I ever feel so accomplished again? Hard to say.

For a recent game localization meet-up, I thought I should bring business cards, since there'd be a large number in attendance. I wanted something more fun than professional, so I got out the chisels & made some stamps. I'm still very new at the craft, but these served their purpose.

Oktoberfest in Tokyo at Solomachi by the Sky Tree! Mostly overpriced foodstalls. Paid ¥2350 for cabbage rolls & a beer. But the beer was good & the schnitzel w/ mashed potatoes looked really good (just had a hankerin' for cabbage rolls but wouldn't recommend them).

Was asking about what erasers to use to carve stamps before, and found these today at Sekaido: erasers specifically for stamp-making. One type even has 2 layers of different colors, so you can easily see your design emerge!

This had a nice coconut milk creaminess to it. It's a little sweet, but there's a touch of pepperiness that keeps it from being bland, too. This was a pleasant meal that I'd welcome again. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it rolls better.
