Once Upon a Time: The Venus of Berekhat Ram (found in Israel) is dated to 230,000–700,000 B.C., and the Venus of Tan-Tan (found in Morocco) to 300,000–500,000 B.C. These shaped stones may have been modified by early hominins, hence possible examples of the earliest symbolic art - Links in comments.
