We looked into going to a world cup game, ANY game, because Atlanta is one of the host cities.

the tickets start at $1500.

we are no longer interested in going to the world cup, and everything that happened in the last 24 hours has cemented that decision.

Those are war crimes, Senator Cotton.

Cool. Does this mean that trucks will stop being 10 feet tall to skirt around the regulations as well?

We're broke, Mr. President.

Surprised Vegas hasn't realized they lost the monopoly on gambling to the sports betting apps. People don't need to travel to Vegas during football season, they can waste their money from their living room couch. I would support a Vegas crackdown on the sports betting industry, too.

They're terrified he'll cut off access. But he's not saying anything true or worth listening to, so maybe they should decide en masse to simply not bother.

And it could have gotten a passing grade if she had cited the Bible properly, cited the viewpoints of her own religious leaders (assuming they wrote it down), and actually answered the questions instead of going on a soap box. Good professors love an combative essay that backs up its words.

And if a parent complains to the school, the school is legally SUPPOSED to give a middle finger to the parent because college students are adults and FERPA protects the privacy of the student from the parents..... but also vice versa. Parents complaining is supposed to be met with a shrug.

Sad thing is, if she was a better student, she could have completed the objectives of the teacher AND still made her point about what her religion teaches as traditional gender roles. That she didn't either means she deserved to fail, or it was in fact an intentional ignoring of the assignment.

Economically, they NEVER have. Women have been working not only as homemakers but as teachers, bakers, farmers, seamstresses, etc. for thousands of years. It was only the top 10% of households that could afford to have a single income. Everyone else has always worked.

It got my father off the sugar beet farm where he was born in the 1930s and led him to get a college education. The opportunities are real. But I also think that model may no longer be a good fit for the modern era.

This is like someone who was pulled over for going 100 in a 45 mph zone telling the police officer with a straight face that they were going the speed limit.

When I had to get an MRI, it was because I had a tumor in my wrist. I know they were doing the MRI on my wrist because it had medical marker on it. And I held my hand above my head so only the wrist got scanned.

A smart web developer would make sure to not upload the new page until it was ready, leading to a 404, or to not hit the PUBLISH button on a Wordpress site until the official scheduled release date, but I'm guess they didn't have a smart web developer handling this.

I have few expectations, but in terms of desires for how it goes down, I want to see him fail. Even Deboer's move to Alabama had more class than this clown show.

As long as that tattered extended universe book is from Timothy Zahn and not Kevin J Anderson, I agree with this list.

I come from the business side of tech, and it's generally not the engineers who make the decisions on these kind of projects. A business analyst or project manager tells them they want a project to jump, and the engineers ask how high.

That is 1000% "the mayor of NYC came to see me! he used words I can't understand but he sounded so nice to me!"

This kind of crisis of leadership has been happening around me at every level from the local HOA board, to the office, to my city council, and so on. The majority of people who are capable of real leadership are also smart enough to understand it's not worth the headache.
