They do the work. They really do. I get at least 40 messages a day from the 3 different Ireland/Palestine solidarity clubs I'm in. They are always working on something, usually multiple campaigns at once. If there is an antonym for performative activism it's the Irish. They walk the walk.

But if you dont do that its very difficult to posit any sort of change that would be beneficial. You need a theory to prove or disprove in order to measure the evidence
