Today was a hard one. With Jean and I by her side, we said goodbye to our sweet baby girl, Tazmania Colton Klingerman, the love of our lives, who slipped away peacefully in my arms.

We went to the Hands Off protest in St. Pete today. Unfortunately the heat was a bit overwhelming for us, but it was so inspiring to see so many people there. Organizers started with 4 street corners @100 each. By the time it started today, there were 20 street corners!!

Love my FL Hydroponic garden this time of year. Everything is producing! I picked, blanched & froze 2 kinds of green beans, 2 kinds of yellow beans (10 single portions b/c Jean doesn’t eat them), then made fresh tomato soup with celery & basil from the garden + garlic & onion from the pantry.

Does gardening make you feel connected to your foremothers? My mom & grandmother were wonderful gardeners. However these beans make me feel connected to all the generations of women who came before. They are called 1500 Year-Old Cave Beans. The seeds truly came from a cave in Mexico.
